How Claude Actually Works
Understanding the decision process behind every request

The Decision Flow (Every Time You Ask Something)

1CLAUDE.md loads automatically. Before seeing your message, I've already loaded your Chief of Staff instructions — who you are, your business, priorities, timezone, Julie at 4pm, all of it. Every conversation, no skill needed.
2Read your message. Decide: is this a skill job or a direct job?
3If skill needed → call it directly. If vague → orchestrator asks qualifying questions then routes.
4If voice neededpaul-meyers-knowledgebase loads for tone & identity.
5If market context neededmarket-intel loads for competitive data & messaging.

When Skills DON'T Get Called (80% of requests)

Most of the time, I just handle it directly using CLAUDE.md + my connected tools (Gmail, Calendar, GHL, etc.):

When Skills DO Get Called

You either invoke one directly (e.g. /social-content) or I recognize the task needs a specialized framework:

You SayI Call
"Write a LinkedIn post about X"social-content or content-atomizer
"Write a blog post targeting X keyword"seo-content
"Help me write copy for a landing page"copywriting or direct-response-copy
"What should I create content about?"content-strategy or keyword-research
"Create a 30-day content calendar"social-media-content-scheduler
"Write a cold email sequence"cold-email
"Find angles for my offer"positioning-angles
"Help me with my pricing"pricing-strategy
"Generate ad variations"ad-creative
"I just had a call with..." or paste a transcriptclient-briefing
"Create a proposal for [client]"proposal
"Build a website for [business]" or "plan site architecture"site-architecture
Anything about Paul's identity/voicepaul-meyers-knowledgebase

When Orchestrator Gets Called

Rarely. It's for vague or multi-step marketing requests where I need to figure out which skills to chain together:

Most of the time you're specific enough that I skip orchestrator and go straight to the right skill.

How To Get The Most Out of This

Be specific and I'll be fast. "Write 5 LinkedIn posts about lead loss for contractors" → straight to social-content. No routing, no questions.

Be vague and I'll ask or route. That's fine too — but it adds a step.

Chain requests and I'll chain skills. "Research keywords for contractor marketing, then write 3 SEO articles" → keyword-researchseo-content back to back.
